I am originally from Venezuela. I came to the U.S. at age 18 and received my BS & MS in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. Before my stroke, I was a VP of Information Technology based in Connecticut. My wife, Maureen, is originally from Boston. We have two sons and four grandchildren. My ischemic stroke happened in 2021, and affected my entire right side and left me with severe speech aphasia and apraxia. In early 2024, I was the first patient in Connecticut to have a Vagus Nerve Stimulator implanted to help with stroke recovery. My favorite pastimes have always been hiking and golfing.
