I’m most comfortable saying that I am a retired charter pilot, with a career focused on medevac missions (organ donor flights). It was demanding work—high-pressure, time-critical, and deeply meaningful. I found it both incredibly challenging and profoundly rewarding, and I miss it more than words can express (Pun totally works for me).Today, however, my mission has changed. Since April 2023 (when I had my stroke), my “job†has been to be a full-time Aphasia Warrior, laser-focused on rebuilding my speech. The journey has tested me in new ways, but like flying, it’s all about persistence, precision, and purpose.
